Mrs. Brown, Drama, 1997
Plot: After the death of her husband, Queen Victoria becomes depressed and rarely leaves the house. Manservant John Brown is called in to assist her and the two end up having a very strong friendship that seems to transcend their lifetime.
Thoughts: This film was full of fantastic acting and direction. The story was well done and it was authentic in that it showed how relationships develop and still maintained the boundaries between Queen and common folk. I thought it could have ended sooner but I really could see the relationship’s worth and could understand where they were coming from. It was also interesting to see pre-300 Gerard Butler with one ugly haircut.
