A Bug’s Life

A Bug’s Life, 1998, Family

Plot: A colony of ants is terrorized by a swarm of grasshoppers and seeks to combat them with a group of “warriors” and free the colony once and for all.
Thoughts: The first, and in my opinion, one of the best of Pixar films to date. It is a spin of Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai (arguably one of the most beautiful films ever composed) and really gives a nod to many other great movies. It is a mixture of comedy and just downright good storytelling. If anyone wants to see an entertaining and feel-good story about someone who dares to be different, this is it.
